Power supply for a new build
can anyone recommend a worthy PSU company for a gaming pc

Check out some antec power supplies then. They got some cheap ones that are very good.Ocz is good but expensive. You get sli ready power supplies for less than 100$.

Antec and Enermax are the only PSU's I would build with. If your motherboard has a 24 pin power supply connection you need to make sure the PSU does too (look for ATX 2.0 PSUs).

no, it is actually good even if u dont use it. because PSU's are more efficient and put out less heat when less of their "power output" capacity is used. so, ex. using 250 watts on a 400 watt PSU put more strain on the unit, then using 250W on a 600 Watt PSU
