Frankenstein Build..Check me!

Alright so I am going to gut an old dimension 8100 that I have upgraded quite a bit and buy some new parts. Please give me a check for compatibility issues, and make any suggestions. My budget is $300, but I would like to ideally keep it closer to $250 if I can. If you've read my other post about some issues I was having you know that I was trying to salvage the dell to give to my mother. That didn't work so now I am going this route. She does a tiny bit of web surfing, and large amounts of email and solitaire. I don't need anything great, but she has decided that she wants a computer that's been built by either meyself or my father and NOT a dell. So anyways, here's what I pulling and the rest I'll be buying. My prices reflect current price on newegg plus shipping.

I plan to use onboard sound and video. I've got a PCI sound card and an AGP video card I can use if ya'll think I should. I know I would have to change my mobo selection to use the AGP card. Lemme know what you think.

Salvaging:
Optical drives
Hard Drive
Floppy Drive
OS
All Peripherals

New Purchases:
I'll probably pick up a cheap case locally I Figure $35

ASUS P5RD1-V $91

Intel Celeron D 326 $79

Kingston ValueRAM 512MB (2 x 256MB) $48

Thanks for the help!

Why not get the ASUS P5RD1-VM motherboard and save $20? It's basically the same motherboard but in micro-ATX form factor.

And you might want to go with Corsair Value Select RAM instead of the Kingston RAM. You save a couple of bucks and get slightly better RAM.

The OS you listed, is that the one that was originally installed on the DELL? You can't use that on a different computer, it's specifically licensed to run on the DELL.

The OS is Windows 2000 which I currently have installed on my mothers pc. My understanding is that I can reuse it, because I will be scraping her old one. Correct?
