Comments/Suggestions on first build

I have the following items so far for my first build and would like some feedback. I'm not a heavy gamer, but do play once and again.

Intel P4 3.0 HT Northwood Processor, 478 pin design, 800 FSB, 512KB L2 Cache
WD Caviar SE 40g HD
RADEON 9600 128M (Thinking about getting GIGABYTE GV-NX66T128D Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16)
Asus P4P800 (Accidently bought on Ebay, thinking is was the SE, duh!)

Still need to get:

Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400
Thermaltake CL-P0114 120mm Cooling Fan/Heatsink
NEC Black 16X DVD+R #ND-3550A BK OEM
SONY Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DDU1615/B2s - OEM

I'm wondering about the video card (if I should get the GIGABYTE instead) and also about the motherboard, I was looking at the P4P800 SE and the E-DELUXE. I'm sort of a newbie and dont really know what advantages or differences there are betweeen them.

Any/all comments/suggestions appreciated

There have been some issues with Kingston RAM lately...I'd get some Corsair Value Select.

That particular video card (6600GT) that you picked out won't work. You are limited to AGP cards (there are 6600GT's in AGP).

Also, you might consider just getting a second DVD-RW. Also, you may want to get the Retail version on one of them so you can get a copy of Nero.

Do yourself a favor and get the 6600GT. It is significantly more powerful than the Radeon 9600 and it can be found for under $150.
