Question Lost in the sauce! Compatability....

Ok, as you all can see, Im a virgin of building computers... But I do want to learn how to do it..I did the classic mistake of buying the parts before I knew if they where compatable with each other. Here are the major parts, if someone could just say "ya or ne" on these, I would appreciate the help. Thanks...

CASE:

MOBO:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130362

CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116213

MEMORY:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145539

HARD DRIVE:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148065

DVD:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106008

VIDEO CARD:
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814142052

I was thinking of getting a new PSU too...I heard that the ones that come with the cases are pretty cheap. I have a ANTEC SMARTPOWER 400W in mind, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103935 Those are the major parts, I also have another heatsink for my CPU coming and another fan for my case. But any assistance in this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED...

Everything looks OK. Might want to check Corsair's configurator on that RAM...it should be OK, but that's an odd speed.

Yeah, you have the right idea on the power supply. Rosewills are probably the worst power supplies out there.

You'll want something more powerful than 400W for a dual core Intel.

Something like this would be better.

Checked corsair's configurator, and I do see your RAM listed as compatible, so you should be good to go.

Just make sure you are familiar with the procedure, read over the manuals and take your time and you'll be fine.

If you take your time to prepare (mostly mentally - and reading guides and other materials) the assembly procedure shouldn't take more than an afternoon, and then installation of your OS and software after takes longer.

Remember, if you run into any doubts, we are always glad to help.

Did you make a selection on your Power Supply yet?

yes, well..i think. its a ANTEC True Power 550W. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931 Now im running into a bit of trouble on my MOBO and CPU. I found out, well...I heard that they are not compatible . Some people are saying that I should go one step up and get the intel Pentium D 830 instead of the 820. Something with my MOBO doesnt allow the dual core to operate? You guys ever hear anything like this?
