help finding where stuff goes

I'm having some problems with wires/sockets in my case and mobo.

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel, SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

I need to know where the IEEE 1394 slot is on the mobo; does it matter which USB slot on mobo i use; a wire coming out of the case's front is a twisted green and white waire that have + and - on the end of them, where do they go?; and where do the wires comin out of the thick black wire go?

i hope some1 can give me an answer. thanks in advace 4 any help

Nowhere. That mobo has no firewire.

No. You can connect each USB port on the header you want.

Hm. Can't really identify the wires on the pics on the newegg site. The black ones look like the USB cables to me. You connect them to the USB header on your mobo. Consult the mobo manual to see where exactly. VCC+, GND, Data+ and Data- have to be marked somehow, on both mobo and case connector.
The other two black cables look like the cables for headphone and microphone jack. Do you use onboard sound ? If so, you connect them to the header on the mobo. Otherwise, they go to the sound card, if the card has connections for it.

The green one might be some LED or something like that. Doesn't it say anything more than just + and - ?

the black wire isnt the USB or the IEEE its another one. i think its for the mic and some other stuff on the front. it has a bunch of different colored wires each 1 pin sized, and it has a label saying what they are. the green/white wire has 2 plugs each big enough for 1 pin. one has + the other has -. also there are other twisted wires like that i think i know where they go but im not entirely sure. they're for the power, reset, and some LED's on the front.

the ones that look like they are for the power and LED go towards the bottom right. There there is a whole lot of connecters which are used for things like that. Usually the wires will be labelled or they may be colour-coded or you may need to guess

You probably don't have to guess. In your motherboard manual you will find a spot where it tells you where all the cables go. With my case and motherboard (which is also an ASUS mobo) the speaker goes at the top right of the pins. then at the bottom right I think is the reset switch. the if you skip a pin to the left the power switch. at the top left goes the power LED and at the bottom right goes the HDD LED. with the labels all facing up.

does that help?

what do you mean by facing up? also mine doesnt have a speaker one. and i checked in the manual for those. btw u said bottom right for the HDD LED too.
but for those others i think i know what block they go in but not the exact pin, would that hurt it if i got them messed up?
