Integrated Graphics

if i am using a n MSI K8N Neo4 platinum mobo with an amd athlon 64 3700+ and 2 gigs or RAM do i need a video card to run strategy games like battle for middle earth, AOE 3, warhammer 40k, and the new star wars game? i understand a graphics card would help but do i need it?

Generally speaking, onboard graphics are crud. I would recommend getting a graphics card, especially for the too-awesome-to-be-true AOE III!

the problem is that i have card picked out but i dont have the cash presently. what i do have is an older BFG GeForce FX 5500 OC it is PCI and it is 256mb DDR should i use that until i can get the newer card?

i would Deff. use that Vid Card! theres no way where the onboard graphics can be better than that...and then later down the road u have the money buy maybe a better one if you want

It Should Handle them just fine! im not sure about the new star wars game but thats a pretty good card you have there... plus that will do way better than the onboard

It might or maybe not. The only way to know for sure is to try it. Depending on the motherboard you get, the onboard graphics might be better than an older add-on card.
