a8n-e file si3114r5.sys corrupted?
when i try to install the drivers for my sata hd. i get this message.
file si3114r5.sys corrupted how do i fix this. is my cd bad. if i download from the asus website the drivers which download is it? asus a8n-e is the mother board seagate 120g hd nec dvdr drive floppy antec 550 w psu powercolor x800gto vid card windows xp pro 32bit Last edited by Chappy; 01-10-2006 at 05:17 PM. |

Ummnn... the Asus A8N-E is an NForce4 motherboard with native SATA support.
So unless you're installing a RAID array why would you be trying to install SATA drivers? Read this sticky : http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=120379

I read that sticky 1st and tried without installing drivers, i inserted the os cd and it formatted the hd, then started setup. a screen came up that said "this portion of set up is complete the computer will restart. after computer restarts setup will continue." so when the computer restarted the motherboard screen showed then a dos style screen showed and at bottom said "press any key to boot from cd". if i let it just run it continuously restarts at that point, if i press any key it starts the whole reformat/install process of OS again from beginning. I was told by some one that i had to install mobo drivers first, that is why i am trying this now.

First go over your bios settings, that new hardware firewall of nVidia's should be disabled, and even if you plan on overclocking later your settings should all be at defaults for now.
If tha's okay then it's time to check your hardware. Start by checking cable connections, if that's okay we'd usually move on to ram but in your case begin by downloading and running the manufacturer's diagnostic for your hard drive. |

You'll hate this but the answer is "till done".
There is a short test, and if errors show up in it there's no need to run the long one, but (wait for it) if the short test is clear it doesn't mean full one won't turn up problems. Now you know. |
