Hard Drive Help

Hey guys!
I'm currently building my second AMD comp.

I have everything hooked up properly (so i hope)

The thing is is that my motherboard won't recognize the HD

It has an auto find feature for the IDE HD's but my HD is SATA and I can't figure out how to engage it.

When I try to Install Windows it tells me to connect a HD but it is connected in the SATA ports

Help?

Post your complete system specs of this computer. List the parts by brand and model.

MSI K8MM-V mother board
512 KVR Ram 400Mhz ram
256 KVR Ram 400Mhz ram
AMD 64 3000+
MAXTOR 60GB HD HD
Radeon 256Mb Graphics Card ( not sure the exact brand)

This is the HD from my old computer and it worked fine until I tried to build this one with it.

Which version of Windows are you trying to install?

Did you read the motherboard manual to see if that motherboard needs the SATA drivers on a floppy disk so they can be installed prior to the OS installation?

but i think its up to you and you can always change it if you need to boot from a disc if you want to keep the way you had it
