Question Trouble With Mobo

Foxcon Winfast NF4UK8AC mobo. AMD Athlon 64 socket 939 CPU. Akasa fan.
Case unknown. NVidia GeForce 6600V PCI-E 512MB DDR TV-out DVI
Followed the PC Mechanic CD. However, did not power up. Did the out of case build and all is well. The problem is definately that the mobo is shorting out with the case.
The case has some punched risers and one or two of them appears to touch and cause the mobo to short out.
Can I place washers on the risers to keep the mobo from touching or have you any other suggestions?

Are you using the standard brass standoffs? They should have come with your case, and raise the motherboard off the tray. You should only install these underneath the places where there are holes on your motherboard.

Yes, if they're fiber washers. Or you can just cover the standoff "bumps" with electrical tape and cut a small hole for the screw to pass through.

Thanks for the info. It is one of the standoff Bumps that is causing the problem. Good to hear that I can use tape and it will not hard the mobo.
