Build Issue for the techs

Hello all I have a brain tickler for you, I built a computer today for a friend specs are

MEC ATX 450w
Intel p4 3.0 2mb cache fga775 chipset
Intel d945gtp Mobo
1gb corsair value

upon initial power switch pressing there is no life except for the mobo L.E.D. Nothing spinning, nothing humming,i have tried unplugging everything, thought it was a faulty power switch but it worked on my fathers computer. what can be happening ? this has never happened to me before, i didnt use the fibre washers to secure the mobo.

any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

regards

Do ou have another battery to replace that one? It would seem that the battery might be a problem.

Do you have another compatible power supply you can test with? I've never heard of MEC power supplies before.

Send a message via AIM to FLG
Because of soft power switches you need to hold the power switch down for 6 seconds or so for the computer to be turned off with power being totally cut from it, its not like the plunger switches on older machines.

As cricket said, id also try another power supply if you have one.
