I just got approved for more then enough money to build my new computer (and hopefully a job at UPS). These are the parts I've come up with after alot of reading.
fUnc SU-BK-BK Surface 1030 Black Base Mousepad OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Platinum System Memory - Retail? or cosair xms Asus N7800GTX Top CM Stacker 830 AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ or FX60 Plextor PX-716SA Dual Layer DVD±RW Writer MSI XA52P DVD Hitachi DeskStar T7K500 ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 Logitech MX 5000 Creative SOUND BLASTER X-Fi Fatal1ty PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI Logitech QuickCam Orbit LTB LTB-USB-M USB Connector USB 5.1 surround sound Headset Dell 2405FPW 24in D-Link DGL-4300 Wireless 108G Gaming Router SONY Black 1.44MB 3.5" Internal Floppy Drive For the speakers I dont know, if I get surround sound speakers for my comp I better be able to hook up my pc, mp3 player, ps2 (ps3 when I get it), and TV to it no problem. I read alot of reviews on these 3 but cant decide. Maybe u can, JVC TH-C6 (home theater) Creative GigaWorks S750 Logitech Z-5500 Its between those 3. I love bass, loud music(not at the cost of quality), and good hi's mid's and low deep bass like how u'd hear pimp juice by nelly on a nice system. Can someone help me out here? Also, I've read people saying there havin connection problems with the MX5000 keyboard. Does anyone have one or had experiance with one? & will I notice a performance difference from 1gb of ram to 2? Please make any suggestions to this build, I'm all ears (first build and this is my dream so its gotta be perfect) |

That RAM is going to be overkill....you could get away with some Value RAM just fine.
The same for the power supply - while it's a VERY good quality power supply, I think paying over $200 for a power supply is a bit overboard. Hitachi has had a bad reputation for being unreliable in the hard drive market.

as long as ive been a member of this forum ive heard that PC Power Cooling psu's are the best for reliability, and quality. I need the sli because i plan on buying a second card. This brings me to 2 questions, what power supply do u recommend and is it worth me shelling out $650 for a 512mb vid card(listed above) instead of a 256mb 7800gtx card? Is there even that much of a performance gap? The card I was thinking of that is 256mb is the XFX Geforce 7800GTX(comes with a controller). If I decide to get that card Im going to get 2 from the jump. Also, whats this I keep hearing about the Hitachi drives? Are u sure that wasnt with the old ones because I have yet to read a bad review on their new sata 2 250gb or 500gb hard drives. And does that dell 24inch screen have the av inputs because I might be moving out of my Uncles house by the summer and I could care less about tv(all I watch is Smallville and movies anyway lol). Once again, I'm open to all suggestions and please feel free to suggest parts. On the speaker note I want at LEAST 5.1 surround sound, I just dont know which is better the logitechs or the Gigaworks. The gigaworks diffently have longer cords, and more power hands down, and from what i read the hi's and meds are better on these, and the subs bass is tighter. Does anyone own these that can tell me about them? There the S750's Last edited by Prometheus; 01-19-2006 at 05:54 PM. |
