Specific PSU Question

So, I looking for a new PSU, after learning a lot more about them and how spending a couple extra dollars could save your whole computer. So I found this one on Newegg.com and I was wondering if it was recommended by anyone here. Heres the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182006

Sure Rosewill is on the "Bad" list for PSU's but the rating on Newegg is 5 out of 5 and almost no one has had trouble with this PSU.

Recommendations?

No, that's a piece of junk. Keep in mind those folks probably made the review right after they got it. I'd like to see a one year review on those.

Any power supply that's $20 is junk - you get what you pay for.

I wouldn't use it.

Spend a little more and get a real power supply.

Don't base your decisions on those reviews at Newegg...you don't know who wrote them and most of them are probably posers.

Could you recommend something with a 20 pin ATX connector, because i am very interested in that product. I found one, how about this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103484

That sparkle is a much better unit than a rosewill, and should be fine, as would the fortron that cricket posted. Don't worry about the 20 plus 4 pin thing, you just detach the extra 4 wire plug from the 20 wire.

I am talking to one my buddies right now, he also recommended this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817171007

notice how there is metal missing in one of the pins... how does that work out in a 20 Pin ATX mobo?

Cooler Master power supplies aren't very good either...quality is sort of hit and miss. You might get a good one, you might get one DOA. Besides...a 430 watt power supply for only $34? A 400 watt Sparkle Power is $10 more...and Sparkle Power is one of the lower priced good quality power supply brands available.

It'll work...the missing pin is probably just one of the redundant ground wires and not really necessary...and it's a way to cut corners in a cheap power supply.

Ok, so I'll just go with the SPARKLE power PSU. Thanks so much for the help guys. You really saved me, time, money and a whole lot of effort. I'll let you all know when I get my RMA'ed Mobo and my new PSU. Thanks again!
