I need some help putting this together

Okay, I have my CPU, video card, memory, and hard drive installed in the case. My hard drive is a Maxtor that came with the MaxBlast thing. Do I run the MaxBlast thing first or should I install the OS first?

Just install the OS, no need to use the MaxBlast. Windows will format the drive for you.

What about the software CD that came with the mobo? When should I stick that in?

Anyway...here's my build.

CPU: Anthlon X2 4200+
Case: Antec P180
Video Card: eVGA 7800 GT
Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145098
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103926

As for the hard drive, I can't find it on Newegg, but it's a Maxtor 200GB Serial ATA 150.

Oh...and my mobo is the A8N32-SLI Deluxe.

I hope you picked NTFS not quick but the long one. The OS installation should take a good 60mins (very annoying).. After 30mins it's still 0% then you know something is not right.

Install the OS first, then the video drivers for the video card and then the drivers off the motherboard CD (chipset, sound and ethernet).

Okay...here's my entire build.

Quote:
Monitor: SAMSUNG 913V-Black
Case: Antec P180
Motherboard: A8N32-SLI Deluxe
CPU: Anthlon 64 X2 4200+
Video Card: eVGA 7800 GT
Hard Drive: Maxtor 200GB Serial ATA150
Memory: Corsair ValueSelect 2x1GB
PSU: Antec Phantom 500 500W
OS: Windows XP Pro
CD Drives: Memorex DVD Burner
I think I covered just about everything. Things to take note of: the memory, DVD, and hard drive aren't accurate in the links I posted. I didn't buy any of this off NewEgg so I couldn't them listed there. I just found an item that closely matched the ones I bought.

I would've gone with the 4400+ instead, but I couldn't spare the money. RAM will be upgraded eventually as well.

Opinions?
