Ntldr

It says its missing i have just installed windows xp on a new build new hard drive, how do i solve this, recovery console doesnt work

If the recovery console doesn't work at all, then your best bet is probably to first 0-write the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostics and then try a reformat on a "clean" drive.

could you explain that a bit more i dont have a clue what you mean. how exactly do i do that?

When you say that the recovery console doesn't work, what do you mean? Does it not come up at all? Can you not copy NTLDR from the CD to the hard drive?

One thread per problem/topic please. And Cricket is right. Your problem is the XP disk you are using. You need to buy a separate copy of XP for that machine. Thread closed.
