splat computer restarts randomly

i went on my computer to register my modem but i needed the serial number so i got off my computer to look for it and then it just restarted. while it was startin up it restarted again several time. it did it before it even made it to the desktop. when it finally started up, it had an error reportin window that said i had a serious error (no duh) and that i should report it. so i did. i poped-up a window that said it was probaly a hardware problem, it said it was probaly the RAM, CPU, PSU, or MOBO. is there a way i can see which one is messed up?

Open up the case and make sure all your cards are fully inserted into their slots, the RAM is all seated fully and all the power connections are tight.

what are your computer specs? Random restarts can be caused by poorly plugged in components, faulty ram or something else.

To expand on Cricket's suggestions: I would physically remove all the cards and then reseat them.
