Problem With New System

I put a bunch of new stuff together with my old Hard Drives.. I got a Lan Party SLI motherboard, an ATI x1800 graphics card, an AMD 64 bit 4400+ toledo processor, and a new power supply. Everything else is what I used before.

Once I hooked the system up, it started up for like 2 or 3 seconds, then shut itself off. I can't get it to do otherwise. i dont konw if my problem is a connection problem or something is broken. Anyone know what this is?

A possibility is overheating due to improper processor heat sink fan installation. Check it for proper alignment. Could be memory not snapped in fully.

Check to make sure you connected all connections, and make sure to check the 4 pin (square) PSU to Mobo connection, which is sometimes easily forgoten.

Aww man... yeah i got that plugged in too. On my motherboard I do have a 24 pin power option.. the power supply lets me choose to not use four of the 24 pins by sliding them off and just plugging in the 20 pins for the ATX power cable.. then of course the other four pin cable right next to it. I have those all plugged in. The motherboard seems to respond, the power gets to the system, everything starts up.. I swapped PSUs and even GPUs to see if it was that my components were faulty, and they seem to not be working with other pieces of hardware...

Thanks for all the help so far!

Could you list the rest of your system specs, as well as model # and brand of your PSU?
