20 + 4 pin power supply
I recently purchased a new motehrboard: MB BIOSTAR TForce6100 GF6100 754 from newegg as well as a sempron 64 3000+ and i need a power supply, i can get a 450 watt psu from my friend that is a 20 pin psu but it also has a 4 pin connecter that looks identical to the 24 pin setups can i use this PSU to power my new motherboard by connecting the 20 + the 4 to the ATX power connector on the board??
also can i use a converter from 20 pins to 24 pins? thanks, cuog

That looks like your 12V CPU power...that will probably plug in by the CPU - it doesn't go on the main connector (it's a completly seperate cable right?).

Even though it's onboard video, it's still PCI-E and you need an ATX 2.0 power supply. Using a 20 pin with an adapter is not satisfactory.

ok i just realized that the little plug has to plug in somewhere else on the board anyway so its time to start saving again for a PSU, what brands would you guys recomend for a PSU?
