2000 dollar budget comp, last check
So... I won't be able to build the rig on my sig for like another few months which is a big big dissappointment. Then this showed up, my friend's bday is comin up and from his current rig i get to keep it if i help him build his comp aprox. $2000
His old comp specs: AMD XP 2800+ 2.1ghz ABit NF-7 1gb of Kingston PC 3200 (2x 512mb) Creative Soundcard 160gb WD IDE harddrive DVD Burner Antec PSU and Case ATI 9800XT Pro 256mb New Comp specs AMD X-2 4400+ $470 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103546 ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Edition $170 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131540 eVGA GeForce 7800GTX $454 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130254 Corsair Value Ram PC3200 2gb (2x 1gb) $165 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145579 ENERMAX EG651AX-VH 550W Power Supply $175 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103447 HP Black IDE DVD Burner With LightScribe $100 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827140010 Western Digital Raptor 74gb HDD ATA150 $155 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144160 Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB HDD ATA150 $98 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144154 Logitech G15 Keyboard & G5 Laser Mouse $120 So about 2000... its pushin it over or below... anyways I need to check if this seems like a good comp, its gonna be used for gaming and yes im aware that I only have one GTX in it, later he plans to add the same one so for now he wants to have a single one. Anyhow, im wondering if I'm missing anything, I have the OS and monitor, speakers, soundcard, and case

looks good to me too. Only thing you may want to consider is the WD 250gb drive, for 7 dollars more you could get the one with a 16mb cache and SATA II interface. just got one today, still waitin to set it up i'll probably post at the end of a thread i have going now how I like it. here's the link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144701
steve edit: that powersupply is really expensive. I bet it's a really nice one but there's a few I am sure are just as good for a good 50 bucks less. either way |
