Question How to Remove Thermal Paste

If any of you have read my last post about my build not working, you know that my motherboard is fried. A new one just arrived from Newegg, so I will obviously have to put everything back together again. However, how do I go about removing the stock thermal paste from my heatsink and processor? My processor is an AMD 3800 +, if it helps at all.
Thanks.

Scrape the bulk of it off with a piece of flat plastic, like a credit card or a plastic knife. Then, use a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol or a special solvent made for removing thermal paste to get the rest off.

I use 91% isopropyl alcohol and an old toothbrush.
