Keyboard problem
My keyboard works before Windows loads up, but right when the Window screen flashes it freezes and will not type. The num lock key stays lit, and hitting they key does not do anything.
I can enter the BIOS setup and move around with the keyboard fine. I can also hold down the F5 key and get into the boot menu for windows setup, but hitting the safe mode freezes the keyboard immediately. I ran Windows XP repair and it is still doing the same thing in Windows setup. I am going to try to run a clean install and see if that works. I read where the motherboard port could go bad but I don't think it is it because the keyboard works in the DOS prompt. Also I tried a working keyboard on it and still got nothing. Anyone have this problem before? |

What kind of keyboard were you using? PS/2 or USB?
What motherboard are you using? In fact, what are the complete system specs for this computer and which Windows are you using? Is this a home built computer or a name brand one? How old? Cricket
