Hot Mobo

Hello,
I am using an Asus 8N-e and after monitering the Temp, the board varies between 45-50 C. Is that too hot?

My CPU(AMD 4000+) seems fine 45C max when playing games, during normal computing its at 36C

No thats not too hot, but usually your motherboard is not hotter than the CPU. Something unusual does seem to be happening there..

I think you might be on the right track. However, it may also be a bad software reading. What program are you using to read those numbers? Have you tried an alternate program?

How about the BIOS? I've always been told that the BIOS will have accurate readings.

I checked the bios and it gave me the same readings.

I do have a case fan with a tunnel directly over the heatsink, not sure if that makes a huge difference or not.

I was cranked my mobo to 51C today and the CPU to 45C

Those are decent temps, although it is just a bit unusual to see the motherboard temp higher that the CPU. Right now my cpu is at 46 and motherboard at 31 celcius. It may have something to do with where the motherboard temp sensor is located on your board, compared to other boards.
