Computer won't start

ok so i built a new computer and it seems to be working. The specs are at the bottom. When i push the power button, it comes on and doesn't have any error beeps but it only gets that far. Sometimes it will say insert system disk but most of the time it just turns itself off and turns back on in about 10 seconds. Does anyone know why it keeps restarting? I have 4 fans and an extra heatsink for my videocard but i can't think of anything else. thanks

i've got a 420watt power supply that comes with the raidmax scorpio 868 case. my motherboard's manual recommends a power supply that has 15 amps at 12 volts but my case only has 13 amps at 12volts. could this be my problem?

It could be.
Raidmax isn't one of the best brands.
Two common things to check are is the 4 pin power connector near the processor plugged in and is the cpu fan/heatsink unit installed correctly.

I would first suspect the PSU as well. Raidmax is one of those notoriously inefficient brands.

You need an ATX 2.0 spec power supply with a 24 pin main connector.

The power supplies that come with most cases are throwaways. Raidmax does have some decent power supplies, but you sure aren't going to get one in a highly styled case that costs around 50 bucks. The PSU that came with that case would work with an older 20 pin board with onboard video, but not much more. I've seen 250 watt quality power supplies that have more amps on the +12v rail than that thing.

Lightbulb hmmm

yes, it could be your psu. i really like my antec neopower 480. but, when i built this rig i had a very similar problem after a very long time i found out it was my ram :/. that could be it. if you have another stick of ram sitting around plug it in. other than that the psu could vey-well be the culprit
