Problems with new computer

I built my friend a new computer and we are having some problems with it. The computer randomly restarts with no messages or warnings.

System specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3200
1gb Corsair Valueselect RAM
Sapphire X800GTO
ASUS A8N-E
Thermaltake TR2 430W PSU

Any ideas? Im thinking either the memory or PSU, but am not sure.

Thanks in advance,

Matt

Inadequate power supply. That's not a true ATX 2.0 unit, it's a 1.x with a 4 pin connector added. It only has a single +12v rail at 18 amps, not quite beefy enough for a PCI-E setup.

You can prove or disprove this if you have an old low power legacy PCI video card to install and test it with.

First thing you want to do is turn off the "Automatically restart" option in Startup and Recovery. Hit the Windows key and Pause/Break key at the same time. This brings up the System Properties box. Click on the Advanced tab and then click on the Settings button in the Startup and Recovery box. Uncheck the "Automatically restart" option in the System failure box.

Post the exact error message if you get a BSOD.

Do you have compatible parts you can swap in to test with? Power supply, video card and RAM?

Well we got a BSOD:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer.

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manafactuer for any windows updates you neeed.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical Information:

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFFE8, )x00000001, Ox804E0BB7, 0x0000000)

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.
