I'd spend the extra 13 bucks and get a dvd burner over the cd-rw drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152058
And I'd opt for a 2x1GB memory selection, free up some slots for future upgrading: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145579 or if you wanna overclock go with the corsair xms version. Oh, and your Mobo link is actually to your video card. |

If you can fit it in the budget, this Western Digital hard drive has a 16Mb cache and would be faster than the Maxtor, little better brand also.
The motherboard has pretty good integrated sound that you might want to try before you buy a sound card.

My suggestions:
- Your mobo supports dual channel RAM. Get rid of purchasing (2) seperate sticks of RAM and purchase a dual kit of RAM or one that says dual channel kit. This can cut down on problems by having a matched pair of RAM in dual channel. - You really only need 2x512 MB unless you plan on a lot of video editing and programming. - Get rid of purchasing (2) optical drives and get the all-in-one combo drive (CD/DVD Burner). Lite-On makes great quality stuff at an affordable price. - Save a little more money by getting a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 card. Supports 7.1 and they are excellent cards. At Newegg you can pick one up for a little over $40. AK
