New build for daughter--college
I could use some ideas for a new build. My daughter is going to go back to school for accounting and wants me to build her a new comp. The budget is under $600. and that has to include windows XP, a cd/dvd burner, Encarta-dictionary, a 80 100 gig hard drive and an ergonomic keyboard what ever that is LOL. I do not care if it is an amd or an intel build.
She said she wants microsoft word and excel, but I figure I can load my microsoft office 97 on for her. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. |

For that price + Windows XP + additionaly software - you might want to look into getting a budget Dell PC. She might even get a student discount (I don't know if they offer it or not).

glc suggested a good build.
http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...24300+PC+build The cost with shipping comes to just under $400 but it would be a good build for a college student. Add XP Home for another $90 and you still have over $100 for extras. Ergonomic Keyboards |
