Custom Dream Machine Build... Need Help...
I need a complete build, everything from power supply to misc cables... I want this computer for 90% gaming and the other 10% just for documents and surfing...
Budget: $1500 Restrictions and/or Excluded items: 1) Must be from newegg.com 2) Case must have side glass and plenty of space 3) Windows XP, Keyboard, Mice, Speakers excluded 3) At least 2 gigs of RAM 4) Below $1,500.00 Please If someone wants to take a stab at this I would be greatful... I have a friend that might buy this or I'll purchase this myself and use my old one for work/school use... Feel free to recommend anything within that budget but please don't piece things cause the price wont stay in the budget if someone only recommends a monitor or if they recommend some stuff but not enough for a complete build... Thanks |

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119077 (50)
Power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153023 (30) Graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130249 (320) Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103539 (233) RAM 2x1GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820141236 (170) 250GB SATA16mb Harddrive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144701 (110) DVD/CD Burner (16x, 48x) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152058 (39) Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813127222 (100) 19" LCD 8ms: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824014090 (240) This should be your idea of a dream machine. Its priced at 1290. You have 210 left to spend... Invest in a SLI motherboard? Spend a little bit more over the budget and get two SLI evga 7800GT screaming performance? Get a new more expensive case? It really comes down to "its up to you", because everything should be thought up cause its all custom, but here are some ideas. *edit: With the 210, maybe you can get another monitor Dual monitors 19"

That was extremly quick... Is this your system or one that you've created for someone already??
Maybe spend a bit more on the case, I'll take a look at the rest of it later... Dinner time... |

i'd go a step up on the power supply with something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931 or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103928... I'd also go with corsair value select over pqi for sure... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145579 The case is up to you, I have that cooler master case that firebyrd posted and I like it a lot, it is a decent size but it's not overly spacious just so you know. very good quality though and the screwless drive bays are great, very secure. also looks even better in person than on the site (mine is the blue one which i like better than silver though). steve edit: if you did go with sli i wouldn't get two 7800gt;s as one 7800gtx can play any game on high setting with great FPS right now, and adding another wouldn't be necessary for AT LEAST a year IMO. if you do this make sure you get an sli certified PSU Last edited by Louds3; 02-03-2006 at 07:31 PM. |

Yeah I agree with Steve, going with a 7800GTX IS better because you do have 210 extra which could get you a 7800GTX and remember to get a SLI certified power supply like steve said.
case is great. ![]() "PQI ram has better latencies... ... and heatsinks.. Regarding the case... if you want some really expensive high tech, crazy looking case.. look no further! ASUS has a pretty cool case that I saw at some computer show and man was it cool: 140 bucks... no power supply. Also you might not like is that it has no side window. but the whole looks make up for it, bit funky but its cool. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811173002 MAN.. how could I forget, thermaltake cases: This comes with a side panel, and you most likely won't be disappointed in: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133155 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133138 Last edited by FireByyrd; 02-03-2006 at 08:16 PM. |

I would definately spend any extra money on the case and especially that powersupply. That antec louds posted would be a GREAT choice.

I have a thermaltake now and I love the case... 5 fans and the computer still doesn't even sound like it's on...
That armor thermaltake is cool looking but it doesn't look like it has many fans... |

Wrong. I have that same armour. It doesnt need more then the four it has. Its super quiet. And its super efficient. Its the only thermaltake on intels TAC list. Im having some great temperatures with it. Fans arent everything you know. The less the more effiecient the more better.

Delphin, the fans of the Armour are HUGE. They are two 120mm fans, and also 2 90mm fans.
