First build part list

hi,
well this will be my first build and i think i have gotten everything that i will need. i already have a monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers. mainly i was just wondering about any compatibility issues or is i could save some money by going a different route.

Only comment is that the NEC OEM burner probably does not come with any software. If you want a NEC, buy retail boxed, or buy some other brand that comes with software. DVD burning and playing software costs more than the burner if you have to buy it.

i was curious to what the next step up for a video card would be, i am somewhat confused about the 6800 series cards, what the xt, gs, gt and regular 6800 differ by. are they all that much better than the 6600gt.

Another thing, if you're going to get the vid card and all, you might as well get some better RAM, imho. Corsair is good, and that particular RAM is pretty good quality, but if you can find it for a decent price, some XMS RAM would be a nice choice. As for the vid card info, I suggest you google it if someone on here doesn't know. Nvidia might even have the info you're looking for on that.
