Cool Case and Vid card suggestions please.

I recently began upgrading my comp. It is three years old and the motherboard finally blew up(not really but it did die).

I wanted to create a new computer (first build) that is on a tight budget and could be upgraded in the future as money becomes available. I don't do a ton of gaming, just World of Warcraft which seems to run fine for the most part on what I have now. Anyways:

new:
CPU - Athlon 64 3000+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103424
MoBo - MSI K8N NEO3-F http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130493
PSU - Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-430http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103928

old:
RAM - kingston 512x2 pc2700
Video Card - Radeon 7500 64mb (old card so i think this is right)
Hard drive - 80gig western digital which i cant fill up.

Got about $200 bucks left in my budget and was wondering if i could get a few good suggestions for a good case or case company and new video card. Also, any other suggestions for future upgrades would be greatly appreciated.

Cases are a personal thing - but if you buy an Antec case that already has an ATX 2.0 power supply, you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone and have a quality case *and* PSU. A Sonata II is right around $100. Even with shipping, that's only about $40 more than you would be paying for just the PSU.

You will need a PCI-E video card, I'd plan on about $120 for something worthwhile, like a 6600GT.

You can reuse your PC2700 ram, but it's going to bottleneck the new system somewhat - PC3200 is the correct match for that processor and motherboard.

Why not try for a socket 939 setup if you can fit it into your budget? It will give you more upgrade options in the future. Something like an Asus A8N5X and a 3200+ Venice core would be a nice setup. Yes, this will blow the $200 figure, but do the math and see if it's doable.

Hey, thx for the quick response. I did not mention that the new items where ones that i had to purchase in a hurry (in college need working comp asap), so sorry about that. I did in fact consider the socket 939 setup since a friend has the setup in his new computer and loves it. I found it a bit out of my price range since i have not started my in school job yet. I realize that the pc 2700 is a bottle neck and hope to soon upgrade to something like the pc3200 in the 1G variety for later upgrade to 2G.

Okay - so you need a case with no PSU - pick a cheap one that doesn't have reviews that say it's a pile of junk and that looks acceptable to you. I don't have a clue what your tastes are, but I prefer plain looking cases.

What I'd probably do is use the Newegg search function - choose with power supply *no* and put in a maximum price - remembering that most cases are $16 to ship. I just did that using 50 as the maximum price and got 75 hits. They start at under $20. Check out the ones that get 4 or 5 eggs.

I'd still look at the 6600GT as the best bang for the buck that's going to fit in your budget. This one is the best value/quality right now as long as you can deal with a $20 mailin rebate:
