I need help with new build
I had a ASUS A8V-E deluxe motherboard with AMD 64 3500/939 pin CPU, Ram Corsair 512 DDR 400mgz x 2. These all worked in the antec sonata case
I have a new desk and wanted a ssf computer to place in it. I placed the cpu and ram, Evga 6200 gpu, Maxtor SATA drives onto a MSI K8NGM2 Mobo and into an Aspire Q-pack case with factory psu. Everything installed perfectly, but could not get computer to turn on. I removed the USB card from the PCI slot and the computer booted. I was changing the the incorrect date in the BIOS and the computer froze. I turned the power off and back on. The computer never returned to th bios and I could not get power to the DVD ROm or the onboard USB (even though they had power prior to the boot) power. I Plugged the computer into my old computer's PSU and still did not boot. I took everything off and replaced it on the old mobo and still no results with the new and old psu. The monitor just gives me a yellow sign. When i disconnect the cable it tells me to check signal cable. What is next? Is the CPU fried? ANy suggestions Thanks Thanks Last edited by urogynman; 02-06-2006 at 11:44 PM. |

Did you try it outside the case? What happened? Did anything come one when you bridged the circuit? Lights, fans, beeps?

I tried it in 2 cases and on a desk. I get power, no beeps and still no video. the fans move, it sounds like the hard drive moves, but no power to the onboard usb.

Why are you connecting a hard drive when it's out of the case? Please review the thread again. You need to try for a POST with absolute minimum components to establish a baseline. Motherboard, CPU with heatsink/fan, one stick of ram, video card (if there's no onboard video), and power supply. NOTHING else, not even a keyboard.
