OS for AMD-64 ... XP 64 or XP?

Hello there ...

I am putting together a system based on a slot 754 amd chip and have an OS question. I know that the 64 bit version of XP would be the optimal OS for this setup. I was reading reviews of the software and it seems people are plagued with driver problems, program problems ... etc.

Have you guys used this or just stuck to the 32-bit version? If there is bound to be a compatibilty issue with old components - scanner, printer ... etc. can I use the 32 bit OS?

Thanks guys!!

32 bit XP works great with AMD 64s. I'll give XP 64 (a lot) more time to mature.

Thanks for the info ... that's what I was hoping. I have too many programs that I currently use to lose them if I run a 64 bit OS.

I appreciate your input!

I'd use 32 bit XP - wait for Vista to take the 64 bit OS plunge. 64 bit XP is still a work in progress.
