OS for AMD-64 ... XP 64 or XP?
Hello there ...
I am putting together a system based on a slot 754 amd chip and have an OS question. I know that the 64 bit version of XP would be the optimal OS for this setup. I was reading reviews of the software and it seems people are plagued with driver problems, program problems ... etc. Have you guys used this or just stuck to the 32-bit version? If there is bound to be a compatibilty issue with old components - scanner, printer ... etc. can I use the 32 bit OS? Thanks guys!! |

32 bit XP works great with AMD 64s. I'll give XP 64 (a lot) more time to mature.

Thanks for the info ... that's what I was hoping. I have too many programs that I currently use to lose them if I run a 64 bit OS.
I appreciate your input! |

I'd use 32 bit XP - wait for Vista to take the 64 bit OS plunge. 64 bit XP is still a work in progress.
