First PC
hey guys Im attempting to build my first PC. My dad wants me to build him the best one I can for around $1000 bucks. he wants it for surfing the web and playing games! Most lkely AMD based and It would just be the tower with no monitor or anything! I was wondering If you could give me advice as to what to buy.

Antec case/power supply $99 Microsoft Windows XP Home With SP2 - OEM $94 ASUS A8N-E Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $105 Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 ST3300622A 300GB 7200 RPM IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - OEM $135 Corsair valueselect RAM 2 x 512Mb $75 Liteon DVD burner about $50 Floppy drive $10 That is a little under $500 there, add in a video card and possibly another hard drive or a 2nd Gig of RAM, and a wireless pci card if needed.

The possiblities are endless with your budget and what you want to do. Search the forums for "$1000 AMD build" to get a better idea of what to use in your system.

if those are your dads goals (web surfing, gamming) u dont need to spend that kind of $ maybe something near 700 browse www.newegg.com

$700 won't really allow for a decent gaming card, arix.
Jay, you forgot a processor! I also don't see the need for 300gb for gaming and surfing. |
