My newly built turns on, beeps and I see the mobo logo, can go into the bios and tweak if I wanted, but it keeps trying to read the cd and can't;
Boot from CD:_ Boot from CD:_ DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER all the lights come on and the dvd rotates and I have the motherboard disk in there (and I tried the driver disks and windows disk too). Am I missing something? |

When you are booting for the first time, you need to change the boot order in the BIOS so that the optical drive is first, then insert an operating system disk (Windows XP, for example) into the drive.

The motherboard CD is not bootable. A genuine Windows CD should be bootable.
