MSI K7T turbo r utilties?
I’m building a PC to drive stepper motors for a cnc mill, this guy is going to be the brains. I purchased a turbo le and a turbo r, and no disk was included with ether.
Any who down to the questions. MSI has updates for the mobo but I am having problems finding the original software for the utilities it came with. Fuzzy logic 3 is one I can't find. I have downloaded 4 but haven’t tried it yet. Yes I probably don’t need it for my application just wanted to try the over clocking features. There is an auto update feature and some others, my guess is MSI doesn't support the stuff it originally came with? I have found all the utilities software downloads but it doesn’t specify which mobo they apply to. If I search for K7T it doesn’t come up with any utilities? Does anyone know of other sights that have the original utilities software? Heck if anyone has an original CD I would purchase a copy. Thanks in advance for any help. Stephen |

Why on earth do you want to try to overclock an industrial computer? It's the worst thing to even think about. I wouldnt't even think of using a socket A AMD or a Via chipset either - for that kind of use you need stability, not performance. Intel on Intel for that kind of work, even if you use a Celeron to keep costs down.

Like I said I'm new?
I purchased 2 mobos one had a cpu the other had a cpu and ram they were cheep 60$ and 70$. The one I am using for the cnc will be run stock the other the has RAID and is the one I want to play with to run my cad programs. The seller of the cnc program states 1ghz or better. I will give it a try with the MSI and see how it runs. The cnc program MACH 3 has a test program that tests the stability of the parallel ports. This will tell the story. Thanks for the help glc. Examine the capacitors on those boards very carefully. They are from the era of bad caps - if any of them are bulging or leaking electrolyte, do not use the boards.

Thanks for the heads up. I have looked over each and tested each with win 98. They both seem to work fine. I take these caps are to smooth the DC?
I forgot to mention the main reason besides price was that they have 2 parallel ports plus the printer port, something that will be needed for inputs/outputs. This is something that I think is getting faded out to USB. The CNC software builder claims USB has problems when it comes to timing. Thanks again glc |
