Help Wanted!
Hi guys. These are my computer parts that im going to be getting.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ at 2.2 Ghz ASUS A8N5X nForce 4 ATX Board 2 GB (2 x 1 GB) GSkill memory (2.5-3-3-6 timings) 250 GB Western Digital 16 MB Cache SATA 150 HD Logitech Z-5300e 280 watt speakers 19 inch Hyundai L90D+ Enermax Noisetaker 485 Watt PSU Thermaltake Soprano Powercolor X1900XT video card i have a question: how wise would it be to get a video card of this price when i can get something almost as good that will perform almost as good. Such as, playing FEAR, quake 4, halflife 2, CS on max AA and AF and settings at 1280x1024? would a GTX 256 work just as good or what? |

The GTX is a powerhouse in itself but the x1900xt has a little bit of an edge right now. If you're a little leary on the price, I would go with the GeForce. I doubt you'll notice the few FPS difference.

i ahve a 7800gtx and let me tell you, it never even hiccuped once. i play on a lcd, 1280x1024, 4x AA, high textures, and everything else on high as well. dont need anything better (for now). i play bf2, fear, cs:source, aoe 3, nhl 2k6, quake 4, all on high. you wont be disappointed.
