Which motherboard?
I am looking to build a computer for my mother. Its not going to be anything fancy as I have a P3 SL4C8 1000/256/133/1.7v (FCPGA) processor. The computer will be used only for internet. I'm looking for suggestions on mobos and where I might be able to find them.
Any suggestions/comments? Thanks! |

It gets harder and harder to find older hardware, but check out these boards: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/justdeals/so370mo.html
Asus is always a good choice, and it should fit the bill. You'll need SDRAM. If you don't need a video card, I'd grab this one with integrated graphics: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/justdeals/cusl2m.html

The only problem with justdeals is this - if you try to actually add one of those boards to the cart, it will show up as out of stock. The good boards get snatched up real quick.
Newegg has exactly two new Socket 370 boards in stock - they are Via chipsets but aren't bad boards. I've used the first one for a budget 370 build and it works okay. The first one has onboard video and lan, the second one doesn't. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136146 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136111 Zipzoomfly has the same 2 boards. |
