New X2 4400 Build
First, I have been reading posts here and am quite impressed with the tolerance and helpfulness of the members and moderators. Great job!!
I am a computer idiot that is hopeful he might be able to build a computer that will be used to run financial database simulations that will barely run on my current system: P4 2 Ghz w/ 1.2G RDRAM. I also play the occasional flight simulator but am not a big gamer. The proposed system will consist of: Biostar iDEQ 330P Barebone, AMD 64X2 4400, OCZ Gold GX 2GB SDRAM DDR 400 memory, Lite-On ATAPI/E/IDE Burner #165H6S-OEM, Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160GB #ST3160023Z, Sapphire 100141L Radeon X1300 256 mb #10014L, & MS XP Home w/SP2-OEM. My biggest concern is quality/compatability of parts and secondly performance vs. price. As I mentioned before, I am a computer idiot that Murphy has a choke hold on. (If anything can go wrong, it will) Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you |

Foldin' For PCMech!

First off, welcome to the forums!
![]() That system looks good, I built a 4400+ for a guy a few months ago and he loves it. How much are you willing to spend on this system?

It looks like it will cost about $1600 w/monitor, keyboard, etc. Costco has an X2 4200 & 1G RAM for $1100 which is quite hard to pass up but I am looking at the L2 Cach and experience of actually building my own.
