hi. i recently purchased everything needed to bulid my first computer. i ran into some problems after building it.. i keep getting the "BAD BIOS CHECKSUM" error. it then continues to ask for a floppy or cd rom with the file P4P800-E.ROM on it. i insert the disk that came with the motherboard into the cd-rom drive and it says "start erasing...-" and then "start programming../.". after that it asks me to restart my system and so i do that.. only to run into the same problem. can someone please help me??

First thing to check is the clear cmos jumper to be sure it is in the normal position, your motherboard manual should be clear on where exactly this jumper is located and the correct position for it to be in for normal operation. This is not related to your problem, but I thought I saw something about standard win XP will only use 2Gig of memory max, and that you would need 64 bit edition to go above 2Gig memory..
