"Identify this" game
I'm trying to install my DVD/RW and hard drives now, and I've never done it before. It looks like my case is set up to use these "Drive Rails" that I've heard so much about. I have two sets of what I think are drive rails, but I'm unsure of the correct orientation to attach them, and whether I attach them before I put it in the case or not. Heres a pic, feel free to laugh if I'm confused, as long as you tell me how to set it right.

What exact case do you have? Perhaps someone has some experience with your particular case...
The second item looks like a filler bracket that pops into unused 5.25" external bays (ie, DVD drive). There's probably a nicer looking plastic faceplate to cover that up so it's probably not really necessary.

The case is an Antec 3000-B Super Midtower. As far as I can tell I can't just screw the DVD straight into the frame without it rattling around.

It looks like you have the drive rail on correctly. You may need to slide it forward, so the metal tab on the rail is even with the front of the drive.
Then simply slide the drive into the case from the front. The rails should make it slide in easily and the metal tabs will lock into place when the drive is in far enough. Let us know how it goes.

Awesome, it worked perfectly. It just didn't look like it would work, and I didn't wanna go to all that trouble without knowing how to do it. Unforunately I have to raise it up a bit higher cuz I left a gap...live and learn, but as soon as I do that it will fit nicely. I might be back in a few minutes with a question about how to make two hard drives and a floppy fit in a case with only two 3.5" slots.

The two hard drives will go in the internal bays and the floppy goes in the external bay.

I would avoid stacking hard drives, they can get pretty warm.
According to this image: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...e%20-%20Retail your case should have plenty of extra 3.5" bays in the front. Just space the drives out so there is enough airflow.
