SATA/IDE compatibility?

I want to install my new Western Digital 250 GB SATA as the master, and my 40 GB Western Digital Enhanced IDE drive as the slave. Is it possible? Do I have to do anything special?

there is no such thing as master/slave for sata. all you would do is set-up the ide one to be the master and the bios would pick them both up. Sata's purpose was to remove the master/slave thing. Just hook-up the ide like there was only one drive and just hook-up the Sata as it shows in the instruction booklet if there isn't one just plug the power cable into the back and the sata cable from the back into the motherboard Never installed one myself but it's prettty self-explanitory
