You do not need the Arctic Silver - the retail processor comes with a thermal solution. Spend another 10 to 15 bucks and get a DVD burner instead of the combo drive.

School rig? Looks more like a gamer to me - a 7800 is a gaming card.

You might upgrade the Liteon to a DVD burner.
The processor will have either a thermal pad or compound included, you won't need the Arctic Silver.
Check Corsairs configurator ar the QVL list on the motherboards page at ASUS to be sure the RAM is the right type.You might need a floppy drive at some point in the setup.
I don't see any obvious problems with compatability.
