What do you plan on doing with this computer? How intense a gaming machine do you need? You know you cannot buy Alienware cases by themselves.

with a $1000, the sky is the limit.

Have you decided if you want to go with an AMD or Intel based system? Intels are traditionally though of as multitaskers while gamers perfer AMD CPU's.

Heres a starting point for a top-notch AMD system:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ $166.00
Asus A8N-E $103.00
Corsair ValueSelect DDR SDRAM (2x1GB)=2GB $149.99
Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB HDD $135.00

That leaves you $550 for a Graphics Card, Optical Drive, OS, case and PSU

I edited your links so they are clickable.

The optical drive and OS you chose are fine.

I would change the power supply in that case. If you like the case you can keep it, just buy a power supply such as an Antec here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103937

The video card you chose is an AGP, which won't work with the PCI-Express motherboard that MakeYourslf suggested. A 6200 is also very underpowered for a gaming machine. Take a look at the 6800 or even 7800 series of cards.

That Aspire PSU won't do, despite the high price, it's poor quality. The one Alaron linked to is much better.

Also, please edit your posts if you have something to add, rather than adding new ones. It makes the thread unnecessarily long. Thanks!

Once again, please EDIT your posts to add information if nobody has responded yet.

The onboard sound on the motherboard is better than that cheap sound card. You don't need it.
