First off, don't use Tiger Direct -their customer service is abesolutely horrible. If you save a few bucks with them, it's just not worth it if you have to deal with their customer service.

For the video card I'd look at an eVGA 6600GT or if the budget allows a 6800GS. They are great for lighter gaming.

I wouldn't get that power supply, it's overpriced for a questionable quality power supply (that one should be OK, but Ultra has had a bad track record). Look at one of Antec's power supplies in the 450W range, they are a bit cheaper and are known to be high quality.

There are some 250GB hard drives with a 16MB cache - I've heard them are pretty darn fast.

Have you decided on AMD or Intel?

You can change the hard drive to one with a 16Mb cache for better performance.
Case try to get one without the power supply to save some cash.
That video card (6800XT) should be good enough for light gaming.
Motherboard Intel chipset with the 775 pin or AMD based with the socket 939.
CPU, to match the board.
OS Windows XP Home w/ SP2 OEM
Sound card, unless you have pretty good speakers, the onboard 8 channel should be fine.
Monitor Do you want CRT or LCD?
DVD burner, Liteon is good and comes with the burning software.
Keyboard, mouse, floppy, basic logisys or microsoft, mitsumi for the floppy or FDD/card reader
ram, depends on the motherboard, Corsair valueselect will be fine.
CPU heatsink/fan, stick with the stock unit. it will be fine and wont void the warranty on the CPU.
Agree about avoiding tigerdirect. newegg or zipzoomfly.
I would use an Antec PSU.

OK, well, the choice between Intel and AMD is really a personal preference. Personally, I'd go for an Intel, but that's my choice. Either one will do what you want the computer to do just fine.
