Need Help With Crossfire!!!
hello i have bought the: ASUS Extreme AX1900XTX/2DHTV Radeon X1900XTX 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 CrossFire Ready Video Card and the: POWERCOLOR 1900CF OEM Radeon X1900 CrossFire Edition 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - OEM. My mother board is: ASUS A8R-MVP ATX AMD CrossFire Motherboard. I put the asus card into the primary pci express slot and the powercoler card into the other one on top. When i turn my pc on both cards fans run and led's are on so power is runing to both of them. my question is: how do i know that both of the cards are working togeather? and is my setup right? do i need to install something or wire something other than just plugging in the two cards? The catalyst 6.2 dosent load when i click on it
. please help!-Mike Last edited by Alaron; 02-28-2006 at 09:24 PM. |

Watch the language. Do you have the DVI connector cable attached to both cards? http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...d%20-%20Retail

Crossfire needs the cards to be connected with that cable. Check it out here: http://www.ati.com/technology/crossfire/howitworks.html
Plug it in to both cards and then into the monitor. Then Crossfire should be good to go. |

this is too hard to explain... i just tried to connect it but the one plug that i guess is supposed to go into my monitor dvi plug is weird and the only place i can see where that can fit is on my special non primary card. i tried hooking it up that way and i recieve no signal.

The key is using the black cable in this picture: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowIm...d%20-%20Retail
It should have come with the X1900 Crossfire Edition card. On the end with two connectors (on the right in the photo). Plug one connector into the X1900XTX and the other into the X1900. Then plug your monitor into the single connection. (On the left in the photo). Check out the video on the link I posted earlier. ATI has a flash video showing the setup. Then it should be set. |

That's still not an appropriate post in these forums. This isn't a chatroom.
