My very first build, do these work?

Hi, i actually found this fourm through Newegg, but anyways, right to the point. This is my first time at trying to build my own comp. I would want something where I can start playing games on, like counterstrike source, or battlefield2. I'm very new at the PC game industry, so I don't really know what to look for, and I don't want to spend more than 700, but with the parts i choose, it comes up to 744 bucks. So any suggestions where I can downgrade or recomment a different part would be most appreciated!

I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers and the OS. So here are the parts i choose.

case and Ps. Antec has good psu and cases. You will not need a different one.

You're buying an SLI motherboard and a power supply that isn't certified for SLI.
If you don't intend to use two video cards in the future save money and get a cheaper motherboard, like this one :
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131569

Or get an SLI certified power supply if you do plan to add another card.
Like this one : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817103931

About your choice of ram, depending on what motherboard you decide on go download the manual from the manufacturer's web site and see what ram is recommended for use with the motherboard.
I think you may have chosen at random and on price alone and that's not the best idea.

Thanks guys for you help. Just have another question...

what's a different between a 20+4 pin and a 24 pin power supply? can you use a 20+4 on a mobo that is 24pin?

Given the fact that there are alot of mobos out there with 20 pin connectors and their owners need new power supplies it means the manufacturers needn't change power supply specs and can use ATX 2.0 power suppies with dual 12 volt rails for everyone.
So you can have the 20 pin single 12 volt rail for now and the dual 12 volt rail for later. It's alot better for their bottom lines.
I liked the Xclio 480 (I usually use Antec or Enermax.) I ordered for a customer so much that I've now ordered one for myself as well.
My current board uses a 20 pin connector, so I'll remove the extra 4 pin connector for now, but when I upgrade later (sometime next year) I'll be able to use the same power supply by adding the 4 pin back to make 24.

That is a pretty slow hard drive, only 2Gb cache. Up that to 8 or 16 Gb cache.

Don't get a Samsung burner - a Lite-On is a better bet from a reliability standpoint. I'd also spend the extra $15 for a 3200+ processor.

Yes, the board has "PATA 2 x ATA100 up to 4 Devices" which is the IDE interface, 2 headers, for up to 2 devices(hard drives or cd/dvd drives) on each one. atapi is the same as pata.
That liteon will be fine.

That Lite-On's a fine choice.
Your motherboard has both IDE and SATA connectors so you're fine there.

Read up on ATAPI here : http://whatis.techtarget.com/definit...213789,00.html

Tech talk has many ways to refer to the same thing.

So i'm going to with these parts (final list, hopefully) might as well spend money for things I really wanted and still be budget. ($700) I'm going to take glc's advice and go for the 3200 processor. One pointer for you, do not hook up the usb cable from the card reader to the motherboard untill after you install the Operating system or it will hijack the C drive designation.
