Newb's first build - please check my components.

I'll be using the computer mostly for web stuff: designing websites, surfing, downloading and burning music/movies. Beefiest apps will be stuff like Adobe Acrobat & Illustrator and Paint Shop Pro. I'm not looking for a gaming system but it would be nice to play a current game once in a while. What I really want is a system that won't bog down while I have 10 different IE windows open, editing a photo in PSP, downloading a movie, and checking my email all at the same time.

Here's what I came up with:

NEC Black IDE/ATAPI DVD Burner Model ND-3550A - OEM - $39.75
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB 3.5" Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM - $96.00
ASPIRE X-Plorer ATXB8KLW-SS Silver Computer Case With Side Panel Window - Retail - $58.00
ASUS A8N5X ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail - $79.99
FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX450-PN, 12cm FAN, version 2.0, 2 SATA, PCI Express, 450W Power Supply - Retail - $49.99
Logitech Internet Pro Desktop Black Wired Keyboard - OEM - $16.00
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM System Memory - Retail - $150.99
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz HT Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail - $295.00
MSI Radeon X800 RX800-TD128E Video Card - Retail - $88.25 after MIR

Microsoft Windows XP Home With SP2 - OEM - $93.95

TOTAL: $998

Yea, I kinda blew my original budget of $500.

Is there anything I missed? (no monitor or printer needed)
Would you change anything? Please explain why?
Is everything compatable?

Keep in mind this is my first ever build and my knowledge (which ain't much) consists of 48hrs of internet research - gosh I'm tired. I'm hoping to buy today from Newegg but I can wait till Monday if necessary.

Keep in mind that the DVD burner doesn't come with any burning software because it is OEM. I like to buy Lite-On drives for this reason, they come with software.

I've never heard of G.SKILL for memory, so I don't know what to think of that.

Yea, I was considering Lite-on and didn't think about the no software. How about this one?
LITE-ON Black ATAPI/E-IDE DVD Burner Model SHW-160P6S - Retail - $41.99.

Chose G.Skill because of price - was trying to find an affordable 2GB. I was hoping memory is memory and will work fine.

Nope, memory isn't memory. This is better and cheaper, Corsair is a good brand:

Any comments on the mobo? Originally I had the ASUS A8R-MVP ATX AMD CrossFire Motherboard - Retail - $94.99 but then changed it because I was told it was overkill to have the Crossfire.

Am I being too nitpicky? Should I just buy already? Will it ever be perfect?

The motherboard is just fine. If you aren't going to use Crossfire, then there is no point in getting it.

OK, last change. What about this Video Card. Wasn't sold on the Radeon X800.

It's mo money but oh well. Everyone seems to like and recommend it. Plus my son can go buy whatever game he wants and play it on here. So can I.

eVGA Geforce 7800GT CO SE 256-P2-N516 Video Card - Retail - $285.00
