Rebuilt it and now a problem?

I built a pc 1.5 years ago and just recently went to switch it into an acrylic case that i had fogged/tinted. well I switched it and liked my old case better so I went back. Now my radeon 9800 pro is effed up because any 3d graphics(games) look all wierd. however browsers and everything are working fine!

I attached a screenshot of what games look like.

Thanks!

Also ASAP help is greatly appreciated, I have a big lan tomorrow and don't feel like buying a new vid card.

The attachment didn't upload - it must have been over 100k.

Uninstall and reinstall the video drivers, then reinstall DirectX. Here's the full DirectX install:

Certainly seems like a driver conflict. Could also be an unstable overclock of the card. Be sure it is running stock speeds.

Have you tried glc's suggestion about drivers and DirectX ?

I tried but I downloaded the catalyst and the omega drivers and for some reason they seem to be a little buggy. Does anyone know which one actually is better and if there is a better one?

Not sure what you mean by 'buggy' with the new drivers.

Try using Driver Cleaner: http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.html Follow the directions carefully.

I uninstalled the drivers like i did so many times before, and put in a geforce4 mx 420 and put the nvidia drivers on and it works fine!

I'm pretty sure the card is overheating because of it getting really really hot...
So I tried repasting it and that didn't change it.

Try running the computer without the side of the case on. You could also blow a fan in there. If the problem goes away, its overheating.
