Computer upgrade - problems restarting OS

Hi

I have upgraded my computer with the following components:-

ASUS A8N SLI Premium motherboard
AMD 3700+ San Diego Skt 939 processor
Inno 3D 6800GS PCI-E Graphics card
2 x 512mb PC3200 DDR400 Ram (Now 2GB total)
Enermax Liberty 500W PSU

I've started up the computer
Everthing sems Ok, it goes through the CMOS set up for the motherboard, but when this is completed it comes up with a screen offering to restart in safe mode, last known good configeration etc, (5 options)
Whichever option I choose I then see a blue screen message flash up very quickly (so quick I cannot read it & then the system reboots from scratch again.

OS is Windows XP SP2

Any advice on what to do next would be appreciated.

Regards

Adrian

That error is common with the re-using of an old harddrive - with an install of Windows - with a new motherboard. You'll need to perform a repair install of Windows XP by booting from the CD.

There's a guide on how to do this in the 'tips and tricks' section of this forum.
