First Build Questions

Ive almost got all the parts i need to finally get it built, but i want to make sure im on the right track, so heres the parts i currently have

Do you need the features of XP MCE? You could probably save a few bucks by going with Home if you don't need the extra features. There are some Western Digital SE16's that start out at 250GB and are a few bucks more, but they have a doubled cache, 16MB, which I've heard are pretty fast.

As for the video card, how much more money do you have to work with? That will determine what you can get...

yeah ill eventually use all the features of MCE, and as for the videocard i was thinking of 100-130 dollars, also I will look at the Western Digital SE16's

XP MCE needs different drivers for some components, including video cards and TV tuner cards. Not all cards are compatible with MCE. Just keep that in mind.

As for the video card, $100-130 will buy you a GeForce 6600GT.
