Smile New Build, Please Help! Thanks

Im looking at building a gaming rig, i also do video editing/dvd burning. I want to do it as cheap as possible, I dont really wanna go over $1000. So if you know of cheaper components that wont effect the quality, please let me know.

Its just the box, not the complete system.

Here are the components Im looking at getting. I need to know if they are good choices, or if there are better alternatives around my price range? and I also need to know if all of the components are compatible with each other?

Well, that's an expensive case - but, it's your money.

That's not really the best quality motherboard out there, an ASUS A8N-SLI would be a better choice. You could probably drop the sound card and try the onboard sound first, unless you have a very good set of speakers, you may not notice the difference. You can always get a sound card later.

I wouldn't mess with water cooling, it's not really necessary - unless you really want to. I haven't heard good things about that kit though. Personally, if you drop that, you can upgrade the CPU to a 3500+ or 3700+ and the video up to a 6800GT at least.

You'll need an unused copy of Windows (one copy per computer), which I'm assuming you have.

FDD = Floppy Disk Drive
You won't need a modem if you don't use dial-up.

Oh, and I believe the A8N-SLI has Firewire onboard, which would eliminate the need for the extra card. And there's onboard USB and LAN as well.
