939 MOB recommendation needed

I am going to build a 939 machine for my nephew , and need some recos. I plan on using an AMD 64 somewhere between 3200 and 3700. I think GLC recommended the Venice chip as being a good value.
The nephew won't do any gaming right now, and perhaps never. He is just replacing a 1 gig Dell. I never have used anything but PCI video card or AGP , and don't know much about PCI Express, so wonder if I should use one of the onboard video MOB and get him a PCI express card if/ when he starts gaming. Costs are not the prime factor- just want something that will impress him when he upgrades from the 1 gig Dell. Also, I have been using the Antec case with their 350 Watt psu. Will this require more? Thanks

well maybe you need a better power supply, IMO if u have stock or cheap one... its gonna give you problems later (also noise level lol), and i'd say you might look for a geforce 6800 (was it 6800 that ppl reco? i cant remember if it was that or the 6600) anyhow id say go with a pci-express since onboards do hog your ram and cpu. even though its not for gaming, id reco 1gb of ram since, it keeps the comp strong and if he moves into gaming that should meet most requirments easily (nowadays its like 512mb reco)

400-500w power supply, from a known brand, with a strong support (read the reviews when ever you go to places like newegg.com for the parts your looking for)

reliable mobos, dfi and epox have awesome stuff but they are fragile and more for oc and gaming so not really reco (imo)

asus, abit, msi, gigabyte, chaintech are some mobo brands. pick wisely on the chipsets, i recommend nvidia based, ive had problems with mutiple mobos using the VIA chipset but a few ran great so thats one of those hit and miss things.

umm im out of ideas right now lol

oh hard drive, 80gb is decent enough but maybe 150-200 if they more into videos and music. Serial ATA of course lol,

If you want to use an Antec case, get the Sonata II. That comes with a good 450 watt ATX 2.0 power supply.

Get him the Asus A8N-VM CSM board - it has decent onboard video and a PCI-Ex16 slot for an upgrade later.
